Because of your generous donations, the Broward Public Library Foundation is able to financially support Broward County Library

programs and services that enrich the entire community, including:

Endowment Interest Support

Because of generous donors, the Broward Public Library Foundation’s $14 million endowment can make a significant difference for Broward County Library patrons both now and into the future.

With savvy investment strategies, the endowment’s principal will continue to grow and provide financial support to the library system in perpetuity. The annual interest generated from the endowment is also available for more immediate needs or projects.

Within the Library Foundation’s endowment are a number of designated funds that benefit specific library branches and departments. Here’s how annual interest has benefited several of these funds:

• African American Research Library and Cultural Center – providing support for children and adult programs, art exhibits in the 2nd floor gallery, and special projects
• Lauderhill Towne Centre Library – hiring of a part-time literacy coordinator and paying for laptop computers and Summer Learning Program events
• Northwest Regional Library – concentrating interest funding from the Stephanie Rubin Memorial Fund on programs for teens
• Pompano Beach Library and Cultural Center – providing funds for mystery books and author programs from the Isabel & Stanley Rubel Family Endowment Fund
• Talking Books – a program sponsored by the Library of Congress for people unable to use regular print material due to blindness, visual impairment, physical disability, or reading disability
