Literary Feast Returns to In-Person after a 3 Year Hiatus

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Ten notable authors will be the featured guests at the Broward Public Library Foundation’s Literary Feast 2022, the 33nd celebration of books and writers, on April 1-2, 2022. The Literary Feast 2022 Presenting Sponsor is the Helen Ingham Foundation.

Literary Feast Chair Beth Malkin is working with numerous volunteers and dinner hosts on the Literary Feast weekend events.

It’s wonderful to have Literary Feast return as an in-person event this year,” said Beth Malkin. “We have 10 fascinating authors joining us at our fundraising Night of Literary Feasts and the free LitLIVE! event. This will be a special weekend for everyone who loves books and values spending time with authors. I’m so pleased that the dollars raised will go to support many valuable programs at Broward County Library, including the Summer Learning Program. We are proud to support this fantastic place that has been a great resource for our three boys for the past 18 years.

Proceeds support a variety of Broward County Library literacy programs for children and adults, including the Summer Learning Program, Children’s BookFest, and SAT/ACT Workshops for high school students.

About Literary Feast

The “Feast” was established in 1988 to raise funds to support public library programs. Selected sponsorships are still available.

About the Broward Public Library Foundation and Broward County Library

Founded in 1982, the nonprofit Broward Public Library Foundation raises private dollars for the Broward County Library system, which is the largest library system in Florida by square footage and one of the busiest, with more than 7.5 million walk-in customers visiting its 38 locations annually. Countless others access a wealth of free resources using digital e-technology. Through the generosity of its donors, the Broward Public Library Foundation is able to underwrite numerous programs and events that complement those already funded by Broward County tax dollars, such as SAT/ACT prep classes for high school students, the Summer Learning Program and the annual Books 'n' Bears at the Holidays program for preschool children.

The Broward Public Library Foundation has the pleasure of working with the family of the late Isabel & Stanley Rubel to create this endowment fund in their memory. Their three sons Howard, Matthew and Laurence recall their parents' love of mystery novels, which brought them into the Pompano Beach Library regularly. In the creation of the fund, Howard Rubel expressed how his parents “had great vision to see the possibilities of Pompano Beach” and that the family is “delighted to give back to a community that Isabel and Stanley joined over 65 years ago.”
